2021 Chicago AMW Canceled

To Our Valued Namta Members,

With the end of the year in sight, I know that I speak for the entire Namta family when I share that 2020 hasn’t turned out as expected. It has challenged all of us, personally and professionally, to adapt and respond to change in ways that no one could ever have imagined.  Despite its challenges, 2020 has brought out the best in all of us. We’ve been inspired watching Namta members – both small and large – recreate their way of doing business, successfully adjusting to what, for now, is our new normal.

Namta is no exception, of course. Like all of you, we’ve had to overcome adversity and adapt to the emerging needs of our members. As the uncertainty of COVID-19 continues, our organization once again needs to address this pandemic in an effort to keep our members healthy and safe.

With this in mind, the Namta staff and Board of Directors have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel
Art Materials World 2021,
which was to be held this April in Chicago.

While we know this news is disappointing…we have some very exciting news to announce as well. In the absence of a physical show this year and next, Namta will partner with The Association for Creative Industries (AFCI) to co-host our first ever virtual trade show and conference. This event will be held March 15-19, 2021 and will bring together members of both associations for the biggest and best event we’ve ever held.

We are pleased to announce we have even more to share. The partnership with AFCI will not end in 2021, but rather will continue to grow when Namta members finally reunite in person in 2022. AFCI and its members will join Namta at Art Materials World 2022 in Orlando, Florida for our first ever co-located event.

Namta will send detailed information on the virtual event to exhibitors and attendees in the weeks to come, so keep an eye on your email.  There will be a webinar for exhibitors on November 18th to debut the virtual platform and provide specifics on logistics and more. In the meantime, please feel free to reach out to any Namta staff member should you have more immediate questions.

The Namta staff and Board of Directors hope you are as excited as we are about the future and this new partnership and the many opportunities it will afford our members.

Stay safe and well,

Leah Siffringer, CAE
Namta Executive Director
