Dear NAMTA & AFCI Members,

The Boards of both NAMTA and AFCI along with the NAMTA Staff are very pleased to announce that as of November 9th, 2021 the merger of the Association for Creative Industries (AFCI) and The International Art Materials Association (NAMTA) is official. All documents have been filed with, and approved by, the State of Illinois and moving forward the two associations are now one united membership.

In voting, both memberships exceeded their required quorums with over 95% voting to approve. The support and enthusiasm by members has been a vital component in making this merger possible. Your commitment to the association and the creative industries is greatly appreciated.

With the merger now complete, two former AFCI Board of Directors - Josh Belt with JOANN Stores and Lawrence Hoffman with Uchida of America Corp. – will now join the NAMTA Board of Directors. In addition, Jim Scatena, former AFCI Board President, who’s guidance was invaluable throughout these past months, will be acting as a consultant to the board for the next year. Their knowledge of AFCI and its membership will be significant in assisting with this transition.

The NAMTA staff is working diligently to welcome all current AFCI members. In the coming weeks please look for information regarding membership renewal and login credentials for Namta.org, The staff is here to assist you and please reach out with any questions you may have.

The future of the industry is now stronger and more united than ever, opening the door to many new opportunities to continue to grow creativity together.

Thank you for all your support.
