Annually, the NAMTA Foundation provides scholarships for deserving students to further or pursue a career in the visual fine arts at various institutions, universities or study programs both here in the United States and abroad.  Worthy projects in the visual fine arts, including creating specific works of art, art educational courses and programs, or grants to organizations, galleries or individuals are also funded.

People throughout this industry want to help, but often don’t know how. Is the cause a credible one, or will the recipient use the donation in the right way? This is where the NAMTA Foundation comes in. We review each application for assistance with those criteria in mind. And the decisions are made by people from the fine arts materials industry that have the same concerns you do.

The ability to support the many different projects and scholarships requested from the NAMTA Foundation each year requires an organization that is soundly funded, which allows for predictability and planning.  The Supporters of the Fine Arts Campaign is the major, on-going fundraising effort created to take the NAMTA Foundation to the heights and abilities envisioned by its founders.

The number of scholarship and grant requests received by the NAMTA Foundation is high, and each year we have to decline a majority of them due to lack of funds. The need is significantly greater than our ability to meet it.  Reaching a sustainable endowment position is critical for the NAMTA Foundation and its work. That’s where the Supporters of the Fine Arts Campaign and you come together.

As chair of Supporters of the Fine Arts campaign, I encourage you to join or renew your commitment to the NAMTA Foundation with a gift at one of our newly created pledge levels.  Your gift can be paid off over a period of up to five years, is wholly tax deductible, and will be supported by both rewards and recognition within the foundation and trade association.

Please join me in supporting the NAMTA Foundation in 2010. With your help, we will continue our tradition of nurturing the emerging artist and building the future of visual arts.

Sincerely,

Jeremy Franklin
Chair of the Supporters of the Fine Arts Campaign
