A Successful Week in Indianapolis for the NAMTA Foundation
What a great week for the NAMTA Foundation! We kicked the week off at the Hard Rock Café where over 250 people gathered for the Nocturnal Animals Party, breaking last year’s attendance record of 225! Thursday morning’s general session featured an update on the Foundation which included recognizing some of the companies that have donated to the Foundation through our Supporter’s of the Fine Arts Campaign.

We also had the rare opportunity to have Rebecca Gleason, one of our scholarship recipients, join us and tell us in her words what the NAMTA Foundation Visual Arts Major Scholarship has meant to her. We moved our annual Silent Auction to the Foundation booth this year which allowed for some very competitive bidding take place amongst our members. Throughout the week our members also supported the Foundation by purchasing their “flair” or deciding what “flair” was most appropriate for their co-workers!.  Look for some new additions to the Foundation “flair” in Phoenix next year!

Over $9,000 was raised for the Foundation’s scholarship and grant funds in Indianapolis and much of it was due the generous support of our NAMTA members. Thank you to everyone!

MacPherson’s Teams Up with Montana to Help Support the NAMTA Foundation
While in Indianapolis this past April, MacPherson’s and their German spray paint supplier, Montana, joined forces to benefit the Foundation. MacPherson’s kicked things off by pledging to donate $10 for each Montana White assortment that they sold during the show.  The two also agreed to auction off a custom-made soapbox car, painted by the Montana Writers team in Germany, with all the proceeds going to the Foundation. According to Amy Kaczmarzyk of MacPherson’s, “it was a tense auction, as several retailers vied to the win the car” and “we had a lot of fun with it”. The end result for the Foundation from the two promotions was a total contribution of $900. The NAMTA Foundation would like to extend a thank you to MacPherson’s and Montana for their creative ideas and their support of the Foundation!

Thank you to the following Retailers for their donations through MacPherson’s:
Akamai
Art Coop
Colorest
Creative Coldsnow
Da Vinci
Lyons/Graphaids
Rhinebeck
Rileystreet

Congratulations to Tony Mines from Art Creations for winning the soapbox car!
